A Second Conversation with Andrew Hewson

In September, Dorothy Rowe, Andrew Hewson and I spoke about Perspectives of Awakening. Andrew and I followed that up with a conversation on the stages of enlightenment.

We both enjoyed the conversation so had another one. This time we explored the dismissal of stages, the value of understanding the bigger picture, issues with a masculine / renunciate emphasis, healing, surfacing, right action, integrating after awakening, and talking to the family about the changes.

Oops – sorry. This was ready last Thursday but I apparently missed hitting Publish in the fullness of the day.

Wonderful to see this! Beautiful clarity to hear

  3. Interesting to note how so much can be going on at once, and all of it somehow known from a deeper level to be absolutely necessary for whatever is required by way of experience for consciousness through a particular human individual body to cognize more of its own presence.

It has been a case of one traumatic experience after another with almost no let-up, and in the brief space between one event and the next, there is this reassessing of the previous way of behaving in the world and in so doing a kind of welding together (more correctly, a seeing that there isn’t any actual separation whatsoever ‘between’ consciousness and appearance) of the presence of the living experience of the human being and Presence itself.

And as for relationships, well, quite frankly, if I do happen to mention (very briefly, almost as though I were just joking) any of this stuff to a family member, they have no idea what I’m talking about and look at me as though saying to themselves: ah, poor guy, he’s far more gone than we originally suspected, and it won’t be all that long now till he’s completely lost his marbles, or else, he’s going through some sort of male menopause; what a weird guy.

Thank you, David, for posting your conversation with Andrew. Much appreciated.

      Hi Lewis
Yes, there are processes going on at all levels. Some rise to our attention but most go on much like breathing and digesting food. But if we’re supporting our life with good practices and healing, the trends are in a supportive direction.
We are in a time of intensity for many. For some, this will ease in about a month, after what may be a peak in the period around Christmas.
(laughs) Yeah, I don’t talk about it with family much at all, although they did get copies of my book. Only my niece-in-law brought that up in a group. I also have an active social life with non-spiritual people so I know what normal people talk about. 🙂
      You’re welcome.

      • ‘I know what normal people talk about’, hahaha…sounds like the title of a spiritual self-help book.

‘But if we’re supporting our life with good practices and healing, the trends are in a supportive direction.’ I don’t do any kind of practice but recently sent an email to enquire about attending an introductory talk for TM, but have yet to receive a reply, I’ll try again after the holidays.

David, thank you for all your helpful blog posts — I wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
