Transformation

Transformation

transform air 1According to jyotish, we’re ending a 60-year cycle this year. It’s a time of endings and transformation. For those old enough to remember, the last time this happened was the mid-60’s. Also a time of transformation. And of protests.

The key is sattva (purity and clarity). Staying out of the drama, allowing experiences to come and go, and coming back to our true nature. Doing what needs to be done and not acting from fear. Our inner nature can offer a haven of calm in the outer storms. This will see us through this transformation.

As one commentator put it, “Rahu is creating the growth of a monster within collective consciousness.” Rahu is about fear and obsession. Those are flags of not-sattva and not-self. They are the road to grasping and resistance. Yoga tells us these lead to suffering. We can see these playing out in the news, although the news itself feeds on drama. It’s not a good barometer of the world.

These circumstances are not permanent. They are part of a transition. Allow them to come and go as they will. Come back to what is real, the foundations under the noise. Calm places provide clarity. That is the first step. You can find these places within – in your body ideally, or in your memories or imagination. Whatever works for you now.

the belief in illusion – drama and suffering in duality – feeds energetically on fear (and obsession)
self-realization can lift the entire tide of human consciousness

could be the spectacular instead of the projected power of doom

    1. Hi Gigi
Agreed, self realization has a profound impact on the collective. But I’d caution against seeing it as a magic bullet. It’s still being lived through a human and their karma (sprouted seeds) and unresolved experiences.

Rising awakening lifts all boats, but it also pushes unresolved experiences to the surface for those not awake. Which is a lot about the drama we’re seeing play out. This article is about an additional trend.

On “belief in illusion”, I’d caution you about dismissing the world as purely an illusion. As Shankara observed, this is an effect of our dominant guna or quality. It’s a related but different process than awakening. Making a belief in not believing in the illusion is just another delusion. Rather, we should recognize what is true in our experience.

Shankara observed that when tamas (inertia) is dominant, we’ll experience the world as solid and real. When rajas becomes prominent, we’ll experience it as an illusion. When sattva becomes dominant, we’ll experience it as Lila, the Divine play. And then when we transcend the gunas, we’ll experience the world as an appearance with a purpose.

Recognizing our actual experience helps deepen, whereas adopting a mindset does not.

As for spectacular, that is coming. It has to come gradually, so we have time to adapt, to purify, to open, and to embody. In the process, the world will transform along with us.

Beautiful. I love how you nuance this in such a balanced way.
The shadow rises powerfully—awake or not—but it makes a profound difference from where we are witnessing it.

Hi David, I remember a while ago there was talk of a rising age, and that in 2024 we would see signs of positive change. I know the media won’t really be interested in that, and instead thrive on drama like you say, but are we still on this trajectory I wonder?

    1. Hi Sas
Yes, that trajectory is very much still underway. That’s part of why we’re seeing the drama. Rising consciousness lifts all boats. But if the boat has been trying to suppress unresolved fear, that’s being pushed to the surface. If we don’t know how to process it, we act it out instead. This is why you see such dramas. The trends of time I mention in the article are amplifying some of that.

Some did predict 2024 would show the signs. But you’re not going to find those on the news. And I think thats a little premature. It’s a process, even for the awake. There is also the play of free will in how people are responding to trends.

There is the technology for smoothing the process, but it seems there is collective resistance to that. Even the sustained large groups have become pretty sleepy places.

Yet there is an inevitability to the process, even due to the momentum of so many people making permanent transitions.

      1. Sas

        Thank you.

By technology for smoothing the process, do you mean things like Yoga?

I’ve just never seen such uncertainty as in the current times. AI seems to be an existential threat in many domains, and then the nuclear threat in the Middle East.

I do believe the technocrats are coming for society, and I hope spiritual people are given the tools to defend it and humanity.

        1. Yes, Yoga. But more specifically, the sage Vasishtha described the group practice of advanced techniques, particularly yogic flying, and how it could help the collective. Large such groups can benefit much larger populations but they’re very difficult to sustain for more that a couple of weeks. People have responsibilities in lives elsewhere, etc. It’s been demonstrated repeatedly, even in Washington DC, where they predicted, in advance, a large drop in the crime rate and so forth. And they exceeded predictions. And this during a time when the crime rate normally climbs (due to hot weather).

But of course, the mainstream has trouble with the idea that a bunch of people meditating together is going to influence others’ thinking and behaviour. One of the science journals published the research as they couldn’t find fault but questioned science if it could prove this. 🙂

I’ve seen greater uncertainty in my time. When I was a kid, we practiced dropping under our desks in case of a nuclear attack (not that this would help much). People built bomb shelters in their backyards. And now that I think of it, that was in the same time period 60 years ago (to the theme of the article).

You also have to keep in mind that what draws eyes on the news and social media is drama. Yet a lot of it is projection. It’s not what’s happening, it’s what might happen, often worst-case. Certainly there are challenges, and there will always be bumpy spots. We have history to answer for. But we’re in an upward swing, shedding our history.

Groups of awake together are even more potent than groups of regular meditators. Those will come and help stabilize the process.

It’s also worth noting that there are already such groups on the subtle levels, helping to keep things stable. That will be more obvious on the surface when we have groups helping with that too.

            1. Well – I have impressions but continue to be surprised by how things are unfolding. I didn’t expect things to get this rough, for example, but I underestimated the collective trauma. On this topic, I’m leaning on some good jyotishis with a track record.

            2. Lew

Looked it up and AI says that worship of the dieties Durga, Shiva, Vahara, and Saraswati can mitigate the effects of Rahu. Hanuman too. Hopefully this is different from 1965 and that more light is coming in also as a mitigating factor. Perhaps a greater realization of the Universsl spirit that exists in all that we call creation. I remember soon after 65 TM was introduced, Be Here Now was written, and interest in the teachings in the East began to rise…. meditation and new ways to look at the universe, creation, and consciousness took hold of public awareness…..

              1. Hi Lew
Right, but it depends some on our birth chart which are the most potent for us. What needs strengthening or balancing. Specific ones also need to be done at certain times of the day and for a certain number of days.

And the effects vary. For example, Rahu has moved into my 6th house. Like Saturn, this will apparently make health disciplines easier to follow. But it tends to be more disruptive in the 7th house, where it was prior.

And yes, it’s different from ’65 in many ways. Some patterns are the same, but the scenario is quite different.

Yes, the book American Veda explores that wave of East into the West. It also went the other way. It became fashionable to adopt Western things in India, which was part of the reason Maharishi went to the West.

      Hi Sas!

I am listening to palmleaf readings for collective developments. They have another timeframe. (They are often accurate).
They say that 25 and 26 will be rough but that moving into 27 there will be change to the positive and that between 27 – 32 that positive trend will gain momentum. Between 32 – 50 a lot of new positive developments will take place.

Hope that helps (and hope they are right

      Michael

      1. Thanks for sharing, Michael

I saw something yesterday saying there would be an energetic shift in mid-February of 27. Thereafter, there would be a gradual shift to more balanced emotions, greater self-reliance, and a shift to collective consciousness. Sounds a lot like a rising age.

      2. Sas

        Thanks for that info Michael!

Yeah I’ve heard quite a few milestones over the years, 2012, 2021 etc

To be fair, in ’21 things did change significantly. I’m sure we’ll continue to see significant changes.

    Hi David
You said it is a time of endings and transformations.
Will we see the ends of several wars and conflicts around the world any time soon? Israel/Gaza is always on the news, as well as Russia/Ukraine and now Iran too. For some reason , the wars and conflicts in Africa, which are as deadly as others, are not in the news at all; Sudan, Dr Kongo, Somalia and more then ten others. Without the internet, i would not know what is going on there. Will authoritarian regimes transform into democracies, will we see the rise of human rights around the world etc.? I know it’s impossible to answer all this, but what are your thoughts and insights about these more external endings and transformations?
    Thank you.

    1. Hi Bojan
The Middle East messes come out of the second WW when the west somewhat arbitrarily redefined boundaries and inserted Isreal into an existing place. Jyotishis are saying that some of those conflicts will continue for a while yet. Africa is a whole lot of newer countries being rocked by climate change and a history of foreign abuse.

I couldn’t say how it’s going to play out. But there is a great deal of unresolved past still in the hopper. The more who find internal ways to resolve this, the less we’ll see play out on the surface. There is a trend for the better, but there will be some hiccups along the way.

It’s much the same as our personal process, played out in the collective. All in the framework of the trends of time.

I stumbled accross this. Along with advancing consciousness there seems to be advancing technology. A sign, perhaps, that this new Yuga, Dwapara, is really taking root or that an Age of Enlightenment is as well. This is really advanced technology. Structured in consciousness. Mahindra means Great and Indra…..when I looked it up….or Grest India. Back in the day, hard to imagine for India but now they are advancing rapidly. Also becoming more proud of their Vedic tradition. Hope it’s something good. https://youtu.be/rY9zScujCb4?si=V0X_hvPYFzklg7QW

    1. Hi Lew
This technology is present in other car companies as well, but it’s nice to see it in India too. Robots tend to build more consistent quality.
Dwapara is a tech age, but I’d say we’ve not seen anything yet. There is a great deal more that’s been present in past cycles we’ve not rediscovered yet.
An Age of Enlightenment is a different thing on another scale. A pure golden age needs little tech. It will be very interesting to see them blended. Maharishi talked of flying cars for those who couldn’t fly themselves. (laughs)
