This aspect of the treachery of the ego is so true. I can recall at one point realizing the ego was pretending to be Self. Pretending to be the silence. It is the trickster, willing to do anything to keep control. Fearing what it cannot comprehend.
But it cannot ‘win’ as it is merely an idea. A false prophet. We have simply to connect with who we are within and gradually the construct will dissolve. The path will get easier at each stage as less and less of the construct remains. And more and more of what is, Is.
