Last spring, I wrote about the akashic records. That picture has been developing gradually.
When I was first reintroduced to the records, we went up to the top of the stairs on the 8th floor (some of this is an appearance relative to expectation rather than being fixed).
The lower floors house the records of less conscious beings. This is like the kala model. However, each floor includes regions for other areas of the universe, so the categorization is different and more inclusive. But, you can see higher mammals on the next level down, lower mammals, then higher egg-born below that, and so forth. At the bottom, the process shifts in the other direction for dark beings, like the patalas.
On lower floors, the records are much smaller but the number of beings larger. Smaller because unconscious actions are not “experiences.” As such, they’re not recorded. But even very basic forms of life have moments of insight that are. These are recorded and contribute to evolving the universe.
Even as humans, we can spend parts of our life on automatic, like driving the same way to work each day or brushing our teeth. Again, this isn’t an “experience” when we’re not noticing consciously. This does not create memories, nor records.
There are also floors above ours. The next one up has the archive of avatars while in form. So, for example, the story of Krishna (Mahabharata) and the story of Rama (Ramayana) were both written long after the events by reading these records. It also houses the cognitions of humans who were born to help evolve creation through waking up or activating laws of nature. The Veda at the top of creation has these cognitions programmed: the cognition, seer, and law of nature. And then they’re recorded in the archives when they happen. Remembering these requires a very steady and deep embodiment of awakening.
The floor above that is the archive of omnipresent beings like archangels and avatars not in form. Humans don’t have the mechanism to process these kinds of experiences (being hundreds of experiencers at once, for example).
Our books seem to be stored based on our origin and soul family, which can vary. It seems that other shelves in the same case store parallel timelines. The threads from our book can go to other levels, like to a pet, to cognitions above, and across vast distances to connections with different origins.
What we have access to is astonishing. Edgar Cayce was a better known reader, through trance.
The records include an accurate history, as well as all the players in an event. These go back long before our written history, to the beginning of time. They include the inventions of prior technological ages (Dwapara), as well as higher ages. (The Treta or Silver ages were more about monolithic structures and group activities than material technology. Golden ages were simpler.)
The records also include some “books” by authors who scribed to public record rather than a physical medium like print. They store these as “accessory” records to their lives. They include a few diatribes. But also some epic fantasies where you step into their imaginations (remember, these are records of experiences). And books that compiled an understanding of science, medicine, and fields we’ve not imagined yet. Some physical books that catch the collective psyche get “written” to the records, too.
The scale of this is hard to comprehend. One could spend lifetimes just reading one category of stories or following all the threads of a major event. Or exploring the species on one floor.
And yet, we’re here in a human life to have a human experience, not live in a subtle library.
This is another way to see how unfathomable karma (the field of action) is and how vast our creation is. And yet, we’re all contributing to it, every day, expanding the universe.

Hi David
In one of your articles “Vistas” you mentioned the galactic scale beings. Do you think there are also the Akashic records of their experiences too? Where would be their archives? I think their experiences are above our comprehension as well, same as the experiences of the avatars.
Creation is truly magnificent!
Hi Bojan
Yes, there would be as they’re part of the universe and contribute to its evolution.
But yes, they’d also be upper floor. Don’t know much about them as their reality is so different.
“Reading the book”, is it more similar to actually reading a book or can you somehow experience the things yourself as well?
Hi OP
On the level of the records, it’s just impressions in space. To be able to relate to it, it appears as something we can recognize. In the experience here, the records appear as large hard-cover books. However, I don’t read words with my eyes. The records I experience as like threads across a page. I can read them with my finger or with attention, but it’s a full experience. And I can discuss them with the keepers there. Unresolved experiences appear as a thread that’s not connected on one end. It hasn’t completed yet. (they work to keep things organized, safe, and are excllent interpreters) And then there’s a gazillion fine gold threads running from the book to others records. And yet, you can walk around without being entangled – they’re virtual or symbolic threads. Visual markers that can be followed.
It’s all a virtual reality as an interface to work with.
What about starseeds. Does this make sense to you?
Hi Nancy
If you mean people who have had prior lives on other planets, yes. I’ve met a few on their first here.
There are several ways I know of for people to get a human life. There is the evolutionary ladder. There is coming down from being a light being (angel, etc). And there is coming here from another planet.
Due to the nature of karma, we typically spend significant time on one track. People don’t normally wander from one to another.
I’ve gotten several Akashic readings. All mentioned that I came from elsewhere, but they all differed. One however, mentioned multiple timelines on different tracks, then I experienced a life on another timeline and planet, as I mentioned in that article (Timelines). This corroborated part of that.
Like many such topics, there’s a lot of silliness and erroneous understanding out there.
