Meeting What Is

Meeting What Is

Last year, Maggie at Humanizing Awakening interviewed me twice. Recently, she had a conversation about healing with Matt and Noel. They were my teachers in somatic therapy.

The wide-ranging conversation explored healing approaches and how they can be beneficial and can be co-opted.

I distinguish between pain and suffering. Getting caught up in our difficulties is optional (with practice) whereas pain is part of being human, however exalted our development.

They also amplify why I emphasize transcending on the Yogic path to moderate life’s challenges. It too can be co-opted as an escape, but connecting with our deeper nature can be deeply nourishing and makes letting go of our history much easier.

The closing is good. It’s not what we’re doing, it’s how we’re oriented to what we’re doing that makes the difference. Everything can be co-opted. Everything can be opened.
