When we’re working on a project, the process of creation can be like assembling a puzzle.
For example, publishing a book requires writing, editing, cover design, page layout, ebook conversion, ISBN, setting up a web page, social media, and more. If a piece is missing or done wrong, it impedes progress or diminishes the whole. Yet many of these pieces may be missing when we set out to write a book.
When we’re working further outside the norm in the field of possibility, this is even more true.
I’ve talked before about how resistance to progress may reflect our own resistance (trauma), a signal from nature that we’re going in the wrong direction, or going in the right direction at the wrong time. Discriminating this can be tricky, especially in seeing our own stuff clearly. However, a recent course described another possibility. The right direction, but a piece is missing or unfinished. We might consider this the “wrong time.” Yet in this case, we can take action, but when it’s a missing piece, we may not yet know what that is.
This means leaning on the intuition and paying attention to unexpected opportunities. Researching until the next step reveals itself (in time).
The challenge of building in the field of possibility is that it triggers fear of the unknown. Recently, I took a free class on Freedom from Fear by marketer Karen McMullen. She explores these ideas and more, bringing some context to the experience of this creating process. If you’re working on a project or business, you may find it valuable. The class also introduces a longer paid program to help you overcome resistance, clarify direction, brand, and take action for success.
