Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa

In 1897, an 8 year old girl wrote to the New York Post newspaper to ask if there really was a Santa. The editorial response said yes and explained why.

Well over 100 years later, those words are still shared. They went on to become a book, a cantata, 2 TV shows, and a movie. The phrase Yes, Virginia… became a satirical expression. Virginia herself went on to gain her doctoral degree and met Santa 2 years before her death at 81.
