a. The source of mind is Atma (consciousness)
b. The nature of mind is Sattva
c. Specific means of balancing the mind:
– pure knowledge (gyana) (of the source)
– specific knowledge (vigyan, typically translated as science)
– patience (dhairya)
– memory (smriti)
– pure consciousness (Samadhi, via meditation)
As the Yoga Sutra tells us, relieving the ignorance of our true nature is the key to health and the end of suffering.
