I continue to be surprised by the nuances of our energy system.
Our nadis or energy channels flow between energy centres (chakras) and support the body. You can see them as tubes that the flow of consciousness creates as it curves back on itself while moving. You can also see them as like sutras, threads of light connecting all things. And as ancient nagas or snakes that give structure to the world of form.
Similarly, you can see chakras as vortexes, spinning wheels, flowers, and geometric yantras, depending on the kosha you experience them on. There are 7 primary chakras, each of which supports a kosha in our body (it’s all here). There are also various secondary chakras, such as in the shoulders, hands, and feet.
Also, there are higher octave versions of chakras 2 to 6, giving the sense of 12 chakras. Some experience these higher ones above the head.
The chakras alternate in theme between masculine and feminine. The heart and sacral are feminine, for example. Solar Plexus and throat more masculine.
Recently, I’ve become aware that each chakra itself has a polarity too. For example, the heart is a feminine chakra, but in its roots is a smaller masculine energy centre. This is the discriminator. Polarity, but balance.
Similarly, the solar plexus is a masculine centre but has a feminine node in its roots. Enlivening the feminine can soothe an agitated gut.
I suspect this is where the Human Design system gets its extra chakras from.
I know 2 people who can see your DNA overlaid over your chakras, along with your birth chart.
People can experience and relate to all of this in so many ways. In time, as it becomes more conscious, we’ll each find gifts and skills that can arise out of it.

Readers will be happy to know that I’ve been making good progress on my next book.
Excellent! Really looking forward to it.
A blessed solstice, and happy Christmas to you!
Thanks, Eira.
It’s written. First edit done. The editor is working on it now. Cover designed. And over 200 graphics prepared.
Blessings of the season and a joyous 2026!
Hi David,
Same here.
I’m curious (if you don’t mind sharing) what particular nuances of the energy system have surprised you lately?
Wishing you a wonderful holiday time.
Hi Scott – sure. The “Recently” paragraph on chakra polarity. I’ve never heard that discussed, yet there they were, the polar nodes behind the chakras.
Blessings for the season!
Thanks.
I guess I was wondering what that felt like experientially.
Hi Scott
Well – I first saw a node in the roots of a chakra. I experimented with activating it, like described. Then I looked at other chakras. It felt like a surprise as it was unexpected.
btw – I didn’t mention the polarities are on the air kosha level, where the chakras are lotus in appearance and have roots. .
Interesting.
