Moses Code, part 2

A couple of months ago, I mentioned the upcoming film, The Moses Code. It opened today in a showing at a local church here. (and many other places) The place was packed. What is the Moses Code? A comma. Really. It is a simple, slightly new understanding about the story, and message, of Moses. I won’t explain. They do a better job. Illustrious cast, including Micheal Beckwith, Joe Dispensa, Debbie Ford, Neale Donald Walsch, Mary Manin Morrissey, Gregg Braden, and many others known and less known. And of course, James Twyman. And they really do take the ideas of The … Continue Reading…

Mastermind

Back in the ’80’s, I had my first experience of a Mastermind group through a course I took. Its a concept that was developed by Napoleon Hill in the ’30’s. Since then, I’ve enjoyed such a group for a time, sometimes formal, sometimes a more informal group, perhaps as part of a discussion group. Its an excellent way to keep on track and not get lost in the noise of negativity so common in our culture. Ties in nicely with Marc Allens concept of working in Partnership I spoke of here. Today I received a newsletter from Juliet Austin outlining … Continue Reading…

The 17th Principle

You’ve probably heard of Napoleon Hill. In the early part of the last century he spent 20 years, at Andrew Carnegie’s request, researching how the very successful achieve their success. He wrote a best seller, Think and Grow Rich, back in the late ’30’s. In the book he wrote of 16 principles of success, the foundation of wealth and achievement. He gave detailed instructions for making them part of your life. Many people of both my parents and my own generation have read the book. Many people achieved great success as a result. But many also did not. So he … Continue Reading…

How does your money work?

Its an interesting question. And judging by the condition of many peoples – and governments – balance sheets, its a question we never really answered. In a prior post, I mentioned Lynne Twists excellent book “The Soul of Money”. A book about real wealth and poverty and our relationship with money. It clearly illustrates how our attitudes towards the green stuff influence our sense of sufficency and happiness. Recently, I finally completed an excellent article in a local rag on just this question. http://commonground.ca/iss/195/cg195_money.shtml Catherine Fitts talks about the power our money has, yet how oblivious many of us are … Continue Reading…

Switchwords

Ran into something interesting today, from a Brazilian contact. Its called Switchwords, basically a seed word to trigger a specific result. Like for finding keys or getting a ride. This is not unlike the idea of a root mantra, but more targeted at need. A one word affirmation, in certain ways. Some people evidently swear by it. Its also worth noting the process of Samyama, outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutra. Basically if you combine Self-awareness with open allowing consciousness, then have a specific thought, the result will occur. Much the same way, these are not about trying. The … Continue Reading…

Simple Life

No, I don’t mean the TV show. I’m talking about the satisfying life, well considered. For many of us in North America, we’ve fallen into the cultural trap of consumerism.  Our culture is awash in images of the impossibly thin, rich, and perfect. Our heros have become examples of excess and despair. Sometimes, life throws us a curve. A challenge. And a place where we can stop and smell the roses. Reconsider what is important for us and who we really are. Are we condemed to run the rat race to buy ever more consumer goods, chasing a false God … Continue Reading…

Alchemy of Abundance

Rick Jarow gave a presentation on his Alchemy of Abundance at the Planetarium last Sunday at SCDL. I was not able to make it, but here are a friends notes: The 3 steps to the Alchemy of Abundance are, 1. Simply observe reality by saying “Ah… look at what is, look at what has manifested” 2. Release all Judgment, especially towards ourselves. (and it was interesting that he added not to condemn OR exalt, as both are judgments) 3. Use your power of imagination to create a “healing vision” that grows out of your passion, and sustains you. He also … Continue Reading…
