Our Gifts

I’ve written several articles about Empath gifts, primarily because of the importance of being aware of them and getting skilled. This is because it can make a huge difference in quality of life, self-understanding, and spiritual growth when we stop taking on others burdens. But it’s also useful to understand that while only 1 in 20 people are an empath, we are all born with gifts. And it can certainly be useful to discover the gifts we have. Plus, even among people with the same gifts, others expression will differ from ours. Not all animal empaths experience the same aspects … Continue Reading…

On Reincarnation

This is from a recent discussion in another forum on reincarnation. The subject focus jumps around into other topics and back. Edited for context. When I was younger, I went through a period of questioning my odd life circumstances. At that time, old memories began to surface and it gradually became apparent that my current circumstances were directly related to resolving a past life. I was living the opposite of a difficult decision made then. Once the door was open, I could follow the  threads back. I found it made my life make a lot more sense and it gave … Continue Reading…

Energy Modalities

Back in a discussion of Yugas, I noted that by Yukteswar’s calculations, we have moved into the Energy age (Dwapara). Along with the discovery of electricity and atomic energy, a number of energy healing modalities have come to the forefront. In a recent article on Energy and Spirit, I touched on Rose Rosetree’s differentiation of energy modalities. I thought going a little deeper would be a useful exercise in understanding how the field is developing. She outlines 3 classes of modalities. You can see that different modalities in different classes may target healing of the same things. But they do … Continue Reading…

Emotions and Energy

When I read about Non-Violent Communication (NVC) in the past, I saw it as a way to help resolve conflict between groups. I hadn’t seen it as a healing tool, especially not for self-talk. But it’s actually excellent for getting clear in communication in general, including with yourself. What are the facts and feelings, what is the judgement and blame? And how can we meet needs and come to satisfaction? (I review the steps here) Another key point is that if you try to “figure out” what will make you happy with logic (left brain), you’ll likely miss the target. … Continue Reading…

We’re Entangled

I’ve finally had a chance to begin reading Dr. Dean Radin’s book Entangled Minds. He’s a long-term scientific researcher of psi (psychic ability) now with the Institute of Noetic Sciences. His history includes Bell Labs, SRI, Princeton and a classified program with the US government. You may remember him from the What the Bleep film. The book is an interesting exploration of the research, history and controversy of the field along with a proposal that psi can begin to be explained with quantum mechanics. He also has a good sense of humor. Because psychic abilities tend to show up during … Continue Reading…

Gulf Oil

The oil volcano in the Gulf of Mexico is certainly an active topic, both in the news and in spiritual communities. As one notable broadcast clarifies, the incident is not new, nor has the recovery technology progressed in 30 years, even though they’re now drilling much more deeply. The real difference this time is the dawn of the Internet and live coverage. A number of organizations have gathered groups for prayer or intentional experiments to try and help “heal” the issue. I spoke about some of this last month. Our attention is very potent if we’re able to settle into … Continue Reading…

Disasters

When a disaster strikes, either natural or man made, we may find ourselves feeling helpless and at the mercy of chance. We may feel compelled to act, perhaps through donation. But we may also want to stop and ask – what am I offering? What kind of energy am I giving this circumstance? Am I feeding a drama or am I contributing to it’s healing? It’s perfectly natural to feel grief when faced with images of destruction. But are we moving through that or feeding it? Haiti illustrated both – some people used it to verify a nasty story about … Continue Reading…

Healing Intentionally

I’ve mentioned Adam the Dreamhealer in several articles on this blog now. I’ve also mentioned the biologist Bruce Lipton. They recently both spoke at a local forum, It’s Time to Heal. Notably Adam has begun using his last name now that he’s graduated from university. I was forwarded an article by Dr. Nelie Johnson, the host of the forum. While I was not able to attend this event, I have heard both speak on several occasions and it summarizes their message well. Dr. Bruce Lipton, the morning keynote speaker, gave a dynamic and brilliant presentation on the science of healing. … Continue Reading…

Healing Intention

Recently, I wrote about how Intention is key – practices like visualization are based on the creative drive or intention behind it. I’ve written before about Adam, the Dreamhealer. He has recently launched a web site for just this – using intention and visualization in healing. They do periodic intention “Research Projects”, asking “well-intentioned people” to be active participants in the projects. The site includes the visualizations to be used at a specific time for 10 minutes. The one coming up appears to relate to healing someones brain. They release the results after followup testing. Imagine having hundreds of people … Continue Reading…

Auras

Auras are what we might call the perception of the light bodies or purushas, their perceptual appearance to our eyes. Such perception is easily triggered through simple exercises and practice but doesn’t serve much value unless the perception is refined. Like EEG measures the effect of brain activity, auras are the effect of prana or life energy movement. They are not the movement itself, but the glow of activity. It’s pretty simple to understand. Subtle energy is perceived as light or felt. It is a more refined or finer value of light than our usual photo-receptors will pick up. But … Continue Reading…

Peace Warrior

I have mentioned Adam the Dreamhealer a few times on this site. He is a remarkable young man with a gift for healing and, more importantly, an ability to help people learn to heal themselves. You may find this a little hard to believe. You may have never experienced a legitimate healer nor used intention to help yourself. That’s understandable. I’ve read some of his material and have been to a couple of his workshops. I’ve spoken with other attendees that had a terminal prognosis and overcame it with his and related techniques. I’ve seen interviews with still more. This … Continue Reading…

Final Bleep

In the summer of ’05, there was a What the Bleep conference here. I got a chance to meet a number of speakers that I have continued to follow like Bruce Lipton and Adam the Dreamhealer. I’m still in touch with the international group I attended with. I also joined a discussion group and subscribed to the Bleeping Herald newsletter. The conference became one of those interesting fulcrums that can unexpectedly show up in life. Now, The Herald has announced the end of its present course while the makers move on to other projects. Like the local Bleep discussion group, … Continue Reading…
