Celebration

Celebration

I looked at adding an Interfaith calendar to this site until I realized how complex that would be. Each faith has many celebrations each year, many of which have to be calculated. The fourth Sunday or the full moon after the solstice, for example.

However, I did want to mark the key value of celebration. While life can have struggles, we want to amplify our progress in milestones and anniversaries.

Celebrations increase gratitude and bring us together. This helps refine and support the heart. Events may be full of symbolism, like the candles on a birthday cake and blowing them out. They remind us of accomplishments and of the happy things, even in the depths of challenge.

We may not be able to gather in large groups in the current time, but we can still celebrate and we can still share our joy in so many ways.

If you are reading this article, you have affluence and time that many do not. Celebrate your life, your relationships, your gifts, and your wholeness. They are precious.

Thanks for this valuable reminder to celebrate, and to express gratitude, even in these times of extreme change and stress. It is good to remember just how fortunate we are to have the luxury of relating and communicating, even if it is virtual . Thanks, David.

Thank you, you help me realize that celebrating milestones are important. At least to give us pause and be able to think that indeed we have a good life, despite of dish rags thrown our way. Also a way to express gratitude. Thank you again and again!!!

Yes, it’s good to be reminded of our progress and joys sometimes. I have a goals spreadsheet. It used to be full of goals. As milestones have passed and inner fulfillment has dawned, the list has shrunk to a few things, mainly projects like refinishing a stool.
      .
What has grown instead is a list of gratitude’s – things to be grateful for. That list includes things like good friends and joys that would not be on a goals list.

I also find journaling useful. It helps with clarity but also recognizing progress.
