No, not the actress. What she’s named for.

“Of all the treasures a person can possess, she says, the most valuable is saoirse [pronounced sear-sha “like inertia”], the Gaelic word for freedom.”
Andrew Nikiforuk, interviewing Biologist Diana Beresford-Kroeger

“Saoirse, an ancient concept, comes from the original Brehon laws of the Celtic world before the time of Christ.

In those days the idea of freedom could not be separated from the community or nature, because it was embedded in the medicine, language and culture of the Celts whose ancient ways influenced people all the way to Russia and Central Asia.”

“You never come out [of the forest] with tension in your heart. You come out feeling liberated. And again, there is that word, saoirse. You feel and come out of the forest with saoirse, liberty in your soul.”

    1. Well, TO, we all are. Our soul is functionally a devata and our various functions are managed by devata, so we are effectively a devata experiencing the activity of other devata, a mechanism for consciousness to know itself more completely. Lila.

But yes, she is a wonderful rendition of that. And has proposed solutions for current issues long ago. She’s earned her husbands title. 🙂

        1. Hi Michael
To be clear, a soul is an expression of a point of consciousness, where consciousness is aware of itself globally and at every point.
          .
A devata is a soul that expresses directly. It acts from a soul level. Some go forward and express into subtle forms, some remain as a point value outside of local time and space.
          .
A human soul on the other hand, requires a form to reflect on itself until fully liberated. It is fundamentally an experiencer where a devata is here to express nature and intelligence. And we need them to function in form.
          .
So theres some variation in purpose. But souls are fundamentally souls at root so in that we share commonality. 🙂

            Hi David,

I’m confused. What’s the difference between a soul, a devata and a point of consciousness?

            *

Also, I’m not sure what you mean by — ‘A devata is a soul that expresses directly. It acts from a soul level.’

            *

And, ‘But souls are fundamentally souls at root so in that we share commonality.’

            *

Could you please simplify the above.

            *

            Thank you.

            1. Hi Lewis
The mind isn’t going to help you much here. We’re talking beyond the causal where consciousness is first becoming. Beyond manifest space & time. On that level, consciousness is aware of itself at every point.
              .
Some of those points express forward as souls. All life forms have souls.
              .
Some souls take forms and express in the world like you and I. Some take subtle forms to work on other levels. And some don’t take any forms. They remain points of light.
              .
The latter are subtle devata who are simply intelligence, interacting to inform the causal and structure the world.
              .
Other devata may take forms to operate on those levels.

    Hi David,
I like her spirit, simplicity, and wisdom. From what I read, I share her take on things.

Her solutions make me think of the Groucho Marx joke: ” a child could understand this , …quick, someone go find a child”
