THANK YOU! Peter Mayer does something to the heart. that Holy Now!! Can music be an aid in heart opening? i can’t seem to do without music like certain singers, chants, devotional stuff. was wondering if its a distraction. i can hear this stuff for hours. thanks, thanks, thanks.

    1. Ah, thanks for reminding me of this one. But yes, Holy Now is my fav of his work.

And yes, music can very much aid in heart opening. Uplifting stories and being around the heart-opened too. Some even use funny cat videos. 😉

Gandharva Veda is the Vedic science of music. Much of it is designed to be played at certain times of the day or the year, to amplify positive laws of nature more present then.

It’s a distraction if it draws you away from responsibilities or your core spiritual practice. But as part of a healthy daily routine – certainly. Some listen for a set time before or after core practices. If it’s settling, before bed can be good – but not if it enlivens. 🙂
